Adult/Child CPR/AED/First Aid

This course meets the requirements for certification through the American Red Cross and meets the requirements for the district field trip policy. It also meets the requirement for those persons whose job requires that they provide first aid to students and staff, such as coaches, secretaries, vice principals, etc. Students will learn the Emergency Action Steps - check, call, and care and when to initiate the Emergency Medical System. Course content includes before providing care, adult CPR, conscious and unconscious choking, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Students will be able to identify a life threatening situation and know how to make the appropriate intervention. Participants will receive the American Red Cross curriculum in cardiac emergencies and CPR, AED, breathing emergencies, sudden illness, environmental emergencies, soft tissue injuries, and injuries to muscles, bones, and joints. More
